PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POs) :
The mission of the Master in Medical Laboratory Science (Biochemistry) program at Punjab Technical University is to prepare candidates with the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors needed to function effectively in biochemistry laboratory settings. It is a postgraduate (PG) Programme of 2 years’ duration (4 semesters)
PO1– Demonstrate a deep understanding of the fundamental principles of biochemistry, molecular biology, and enzymology, including the structure and function of biomolecules and metabolic pathways.
PO2– Apply critical thinking and quantitative reasoning to analyze biological systems, interpret experimental data, and solve complex biochemical problems using modern laboratory techniques.
PO3– Develop proficiency in laboratory techniques such as spectrophotometry, chromatography, electrophoresis, and enzyme kinetics, and demonstrate the ability to work safely and effectively in a research lab setting.
PO4– Conduct independent and collaborative research, formulating hypotheses, designing experiments, analyzing results, and drawing valid conclusions related to biochemical and molecular biological questions.
PO5– Communicate scientific findings effectively through written reports, oral presentations, and posters, making complex biochemical concepts accessible to both specialized and general audiences.
PO6– Work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal communication skills in both academic and professional settings.
PO7– Understand and apply ethical principles in scientific research, including issues related to data integrity, intellectual property, and the responsible conduct of research.
PO8– Apply theoretical knowledge to solve real-world problems in biochemistry and molecular biology, integrating diverse concepts from chemistry, biology, and physics to address current challenges in the life sciences.
PO9– Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning, keeping up to date with advancements in biochemistry and molecular biology through continuous professional development and engagement with emerging research.
PO10-. Appreciate the broader implications of biochemistry and molecular biology research on global health, environmental sustainability, and societal issues, recognizing the interdisciplinary nature of modern scientific challenges.
