Minutes of IQAC Meetings

A meeting of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of College took place on 28-06-24 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the IQAC Room to discuss the following agenda:

Agenda: Discuss the recommendations from the NAAC peer team members regarding the Institutional Accreditation of KMS College of IT and Management Cycle 1 for the Quality Enhancement of the Institution.
• Outdoor sports and game facilities are to be developed and strengthened
• Faculty members should be encouraged to pursue PhD to enhance quality teaching learning and Research
• Need to go for 12(B) recognition of UGC to get grants
• Strengthening of career and counselling centre and competitive examination preparation.
• Classroom facilities may be augmented with more emphasis on ICT facilities
• Perspective plan and quality enhancement Vision document be prepared on a regular basis
• Promote research culture in college
• Innovation and incubation centre must be strengthened
• More Academic linkages with industry and reputed national institutions for providing training and internship
• Install sanitary napkin vending and incinerator machine

Installation of Sanitary Napkin Incinerator and

Manual Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine

In response to the urgent recommendations provided by the NAAC peer team during their recent visit, KMS College of IT and Management took immediate action to enhance the hygiene facilities within the campus. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) held an urgent meeting to discuss the procurement and installation of a Sanitary Napkin Incinerator and a Manual Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine.

Following the discussions, the college promptly ordered the necessary equipment. I am pleased to report that both the Sanitary Napkin Incinerator and the Manual Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine have been successfully installed in the washroom.

These installations are a significant step forward in maintaining hygiene standards within the college, ensuring a comfortable and sanitary environment for all staff members. This initiative reflects our commitment to adhering to the quality assurance standards recommended by the NAAC and our dedication to the well-being of our college community.

RESPONSE:

KMS College of IT and Management ensures effective curriculum planning and delivery through various initiatives:
1. Course Attainment Level: To enhance the quality of education, academicians adopt the concept of attainment level to assess students’ proficiency levels. KMS College utilises this approach to evaluate students’ understanding and progress. Based on their assessed level, efforts are made to uplift them to the next proficiency level, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
2. Add-on Courses and Value-added Courses: In addition to the curriculum, KMS College provides a range of free add-on courses and free value-added courses to enhance student’s learning experience and skill set. Till this date, KMS College has provided a total of 384 free add-on courses and free value-added courses to its students. These courses cover diverse areas such as communication skills, computer proficiency, industry-specific certifications, and soft skills development. By integrating these courses into its curriculum, KMS College aims to equip students with holistic competencies that enhance their employability and career prospects.
3. Preparation of Competitive Exams: To prepare students for future career opportunities, KMS College conducts special classes to enhance the skills required for competitive exams.
These classes focus on honing students’ problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and time management techniques essential for success in various competitive exams. Preparation for competitive exams begins right from the beginning of student’s academic journey, ensuring they are well-prepared to excel in national and multinational competitive exams.

 (A) Participation in India Skill Competition 2023 (launched by Govt. of India)

The India Skill Competition 2023 is setting a benchmark for fostering a skilled workforce in India. The active participation of students underscored the growing relevance of skills education in the country’s socio-economic landscape. Such initiatives are pivotal in positioning India as a global hub for skilled talent.

Total twenty eight (28)  students from our institution registered as participants in this prestigious event under two specific sectors:

  1. Creative Arts & Fashion
  2. Information & Communication Technology (ICT)

While the students could not proceed further in the competition, their participation underscored the value of hands-on learning and the pursuit of excellence. The India Skills Competition served as a catalyst for motivating them to refine their abilities, embrace challenges, and aim for greater achievements in their chosen fields.

Their journey is a stepping stone toward realizing their potential and contributing meaningfully to the country’s vision of a skilled and empowered youth.

 

(B) AWARENESS DRIVE ABOUT USAGE OF e-BOOKS IN LIBRARY

A meeting of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College took place on 08 May  2023,2  PM in the chamber of the Principal/Director to discuss the following agenda   

  1.  To review the action taken on the resolution of minutes of the IQAC meeting held on 2 3-01-2023.
  2. Preparing for IQAC for NAAC of AY 2022-23 within due time.
  3. To deliberate and discuss an increase in the number of books, journals, and DELNET subscriptions in the college central library.
  4. To become the learner support centre of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University Patiala.

  1. The Seminar should be held for guidance on filling IQAC.
  2. Work on increasing the number of books and journals in the Library should be done.

The process to get a subscription to DELNET in the college library and a proposal for 10 computers in the library is sanctioned.

  1. The Principal will discuss the proposal with Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University Patiala for the establishment of a learner support centre.

  2. To start the preparation for NAAC of AY 2022-23.
  3. Review of academic & administrative Audit Report of Ay 2022-2-23.
  4. Functionalization of Library as a step towards digitization of College Library

  1. Faculty members are instructed to start the preparation for NAAC of AY 2022-23.
  2. The IQAC instructed to Review of academic & administrative Audit Report for Ay 2022-2023.
  3. Discussions on the admission policy were made and decided to hire some consultants to improve and enhance the admission. Teams were made to counselling the students door-to-door for admissions
  4. A discussion was made about installing the computers in the Library and it was decided to subscribe to DELNET.

  2. To establish a language lab in the College.
  3. To argumentation of the Library in terms of Automation etc. for providing better service to the students and faculty members for academic purposes.

  1. The proposal for the language lab will be discussed and should be implemented soon.
  2. On argumentation of the Library will be in terms of Automation and providing better service to the students and faculty members for academic purposes.
  3. Under Misc. the following decisions were taken:
  • Organizing more camps of the NSS Unit for Cleanness.
  • Plantation drives and other environmental awareness activities will be organized on the campus in line with the Eco Club.
  • Students will be motivated to plant more and more trees.

  2. Discussions for Scholarships- “Manjula Saini Ashiarwad Policy”.

  1. To review the action taken on the resolution of minutes of the IQAC meeting held on 07-08-2021
  2. Improvement in water and washroom facilities for the Department of Fashion.
  3. Repairing /upgrading of Infrastructure facilities in the campus.
  4. Providing a Better Canteen Facility in the College.

  1. A New water cooler will be installed in the Fashion Department with RO for water and upgrade the washroom facilities for the students and report.
  2. The organizing committee will Provide a Better Canteen Facility in the College.
  3. Assign duty to Mr Rakesh Kumar for making arrangements to repair the building.

A meeting of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College took place on 07-08-2021at 2 PM in the chamber of the Principal/Director to discuss the following agenda:

  1. To encourage the students to do industrial visits and make recommendations for Industrial Visits during this academic semester and to plan these.
  2. Review Demand for Library books
  3. To deliberate and discuss additional action for Student Placement.
  4. To report the MOU signed and to plan activities for improving the quality of education in the college.
  5. To plan for the faculty development program

  1. All efforts will be made for the industrial visit for the students and the report.
  2. The demand for books will be reviewed and relevant books should be ordered with the recommendation of the faculty.
  3. MOUs with different companies and institutes should be signed for Student placement and to improve the quality of education in the college.
  4. Online as well as offline workshops shall be conducted for the faculty.
